    Documents filed under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) reveal that lobbying firm SHW LLC, whose principal Jason Miller is a known Trump associate, was tasked with coordinating meetings and outreach between senior Indian officials and top U.S. decision-makers. The disclosures indicate that the firm played a role in arranging interactions with key figures in the Trump administration, including senior White House, trade, and national security officials.

    Outreach on the Day of Ceasefire

    According to the filings, the Indian Embassy contacted multiple senior U.S. officials on May 10, the same day a ceasefire related to Operation Sindoor came into effect. These officials reportedly included the White House Chief of Staff, the U.S. Trade Representative, and senior officials within the National Security Council.

    The communications were described in the filings as discussions related to “media coverage” and broader developments surrounding the conflict. While the documents do not specify whether these interactions took place before or after the ceasefire announcement, the timing suggests close diplomatic engagement during a sensitive phase of regional tension.

    Diplomatic sources note that such outreach is often aimed at ensuring that India’s perspective is clearly conveyed to policymakers and media influencers in Washington, particularly during periods of heightened international scrutiny.

    Embassy Responds to Disclosure

    Responding to queries regarding the FARA filings, the Indian Embassy in Washington did not dispute the accuracy of the disclosures. However, it emphasized that engaging professional lobbying and public affairs firms is a standard diplomatic practice adopted by many countries to strengthen communication channels in the United States.
