A new controversy has emerged in the high-profile Pune fort murder case after one of the accused, Siya Goyal, was allegedly seen making an obscene gesture toward media personnel while being escorted by police during an investigation.

A video circulating on social media appears to show the accused leaving her residence in Pune's Market Yard area after investigators completed a search. In the brief clip, a woman identified as Siya Goyal, with her face partially covered, is seen allegedly making an offensive hand gesture in the direction of journalists gathered outside.

The incident has drawn widespread attention online, with many social media users expressing criticism over the alleged behavior. However, the authenticity of reactions circulating on social platforms has not been independently verified.

    Murder Investigation

The case relates to the death of Ketan Agarwal, who died after falling into a gorge near Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18. Police initially treated the incident as an accidental fall based on the information available at the time.

As the investigation progressed, officers reportedly found inconsistencies in the statements provided and gathered additional evidence that prompted a deeper probe. Following the investigation, police arrested Siya Goyal and another accused, Chetan Chaudhary.

According to investigators, the two allegedly conspired to kill Ketan after personal relationship issues. Police claim the accused had planned the crime in advance and later attempted to present the incident as an accident.

    Earlier Attempt Under Investigation

Officials investigating the case have also alleged that an earlier attempt to harm the victim may have taken place several days before the fatal incident. According to police, the victim survived that earlier episode, after which he was allegedly persuaded to revisit the fort.

Investigators believe the accused later returned to the location with the alleged co-accused, where Ketan Agarwal was pushed into the gorge, leading to his death. These allegations form part of the police investigation and will be examined during court proceedings.

    Court Proceedings Continue

Police are expected to seek further custody of the accused to continue questioning and collect additional evidence. The defence is likely to oppose the request and seek judicial custody instead.

Investigators are continuing to examine digital evidence, witness statements and forensic material as they work to establish the sequence of events surrounding the alleged murder.

The case has attracted significant public attention due to its alleged premeditated nature and the developments that have surfaced during the ongoing investigation. Authorities have stated that further legal action will depend on the evidence collected as the probe progresses.
